The Riga pharmacist Kunze invented the basic recipe for this drink as early as the 18th century.
This basic recipe is a mixture of herbs, blossoms and oils which is supplemented with natural black currant juice in Riga Balzams Black Balsam Currant.
Nose: Intense, blackcurrant, notes of ginger.
Taste: Soft, currant, notes of berries, buds.
Finish: Long lasting, blackcurrants.
Riga Balzams Black Balsam Currant is enjoyed pure or in refreshing cocktails and is an excellent Latvian aperitif.
