The name is to remind of the sea battle in 1571 at Lepanto. The Ottoman fleet was defeated by the Holy League at that time.
Lepanto is produced in the Charentais distilling process like French cognac, after which it is distilled twice in copper boilers.
It is then rested in selected 30-year-old ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry barrels using the Solera process, which gives it its distinctive character.
Colour: golden brown.
Nose: aromatic, fruity, notes of dates, figs, raisins, oak.
Taste: Soft, sweet, notes of dried fruit, spices.
Finish: Long lasting.
