Beginning with Dutty Boukman’s slave revolt in 1791, a revolution was sparked in Haiti.
Boukman took an oath of freedom and sealed his promise with rum. This Spiced Rum is a tribute to Dutty Boukman, who was killed in the very first week of the rebellion.
It is made from the two best rhum terroirs Haiti has to offer – the southern sugar cane fields of Croix des Bouguetes and the sugar cane fields of Cap Haïtien, the site of the rebellion, in the north.
