The distillery A.H. Riise is located on St. Thomas Island, an American Virgin Island in the Caribbean.
Before this island became an American territory, it was a Danish colony. Around the 1840s, the pharmacist Albert Heinrich was not only allowed to open a pharmacy but also to produce alcohol.
To make this liqueur, fresh cream is mixed with a hint of vanilla, caramel and cocoa and then sweetened and rounded off with real cane sugar.
Colour: Amber.
Nose: sweet, rum.
Taste: Rum, hints of vanilla and orange.
Finish: Long lasting, smooth, creamy.
