The Plantations Rums are no longer an insider tip. The excellent rums are mainly collected in the Caribbean and also in South America and then brought to France, where they receive their final touch. In Ars in France, the rum is subsequently stored for several months in small discarded oak cognac barrels. This type of aging is called “double aging”, this technique was already used in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Plantation 20th Anniversary is a cuvée of various very old Barbados rums. These mature for many years in bourbon barrels in the tropics. Then they are transferred to small French oak barrels, where they continue to age in the cool cellars of Chateau de Bonbonnet in Cognac. This aging process brings an incomparable softness and fullness.
