Connemara is named after the landscape in the west of Ireland, which is of breathtaking beauty, with rugged mountains, clear, clean lakes and heather-covered peat bogs. This landscape gave the first Peated Single Irish Malt its name.
Connemara is something very special: it is the only Irish Malt Whiskey made from barley malted over peat fires (peat). The rising smoke gives the barley the typical smoky taste that connoisseurs of a “Peated” malt so love.
The Peated Malt is traditionally distilled in copper stills.
Colour: Light amber.
Nose: Smoky, peaty, soft, heather, honey, oak.
Taste: Full-bodied, silky, honey-sweet, fruit, malt.
Finish: Long lasting, pleasant and slightly peaty.
